Workshop content:

  1. Introduction to linocut printmaking and examples
  2. Learning to use the tools: marks, textures, and safe cutting
  3. Choosing or creating your design with reference images
  4. Transferring and carving your lino block
  5. Mixing ink and printing by hand
  6. Printing with a small craft press
  7. Wrapping your prints so you can take them home safely.

FAQ’s

What will I need to bring?

All materials are provided for the workshop.

Please bring:

  • A folder (A4 format) and 5–6 sheets of paper to protect your prints when bringing them home
  • Old clothes to wear that you don’t mind getting messy
  • For health and safety reasons, please wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or open-toed shoes).

Who is this workshop for?

This 4-hour workshop is open to anyone aged 18 and over and is ideal for enthusiastic beginners.

You don’t need any previous printmaking experience, and you don’t need to be able to draw to enjoy this workshop.

The group is limited to 6 participants, so there will be plenty of personalised support when needed.

This workshop involves using small sharp cutting tools. You’ll be shown how to use them safely at the start of the session.
